International Migratory Bird Day a Big Success
Home cooked goodies from local artisan group MORPHA, face painting, and a play performed by the local Eco-Club with the theme of migratory bird species and their struggle to survive, bird origami, hummingbird feeder workshop, binocular use workshop, and much more! The festivities of the day were concluded with a nature hike through the surrounding tropical rainforest using binoculars and field guides for bird identification. There was also an art contest with Costa Rican bird drawings for three categories: elementary school, high school, and adults. There were many artistic entries, and it was difficult to choose, but the votes were tallied to reveal the three winners: in the elementary category – Brayan Solano; in the high school category – Jorge Luis Padilla; and in the adult category – Roy Montero Mora. Thank you to all those community members who participated!
