Ukelele in Sarapiqui

It has been a long time dream of the Center to provide ongoing music educational opportunities in Sarapiquí. Thanks to the dedication of two volunteers, Francine Broughton and Sue Rice as well as donors Beth OConnell and Maxine Monk, the Learning Center received a donation of 20 Ukeleles and has been able to offer Ukelele courses for the last three summers. This year classes begin in late July through September. They will be weekly classes for five communities; Puerto Viejo, Chilamate, Los Lirios, Llano Grande and Corazón de Jesús. About 95 children, youth, and adults enjoy these classes! Thanks to our dedicated volunteers and donors, we are involved in sharing the international language of the human spirit in Sarapiquí; music!
